2 Weeks of Summer!

Due to a recent computer mishap, I learned that you always back-up your photos, otherwise you just might lose all of the pictures you've taken in your first 2 1/2 years of being married. Bummer! Let this be a lesson to all of you...don't do that!
Anyway, Mike and I were able to enjoy 2 weeks of summer together this August after finishing my first semester at the U! It was so nice to not worry about school or anything for those two weeks and actually spend time together. We tried to make the most of it and took pictures when we remembered :-) Luckily these were still on the camera!

Hiking Battlecreek falls in PG...

(I totally love this pic of Mikey :-)

Made some awesome ice cream together........
(As you can see, we've become rather proficient with the timer feature on our camera so all of our pictures aren't from an arms' length. The hiking picture was especially tricky of us :)

And then to top off our fun break we went to Bear Lake with our good friends, Zack and AnDe. Unfortunately I only caught this picture as we were excited to leave, then the camera was lost in all of our other junk, not to be seen again until the trip was over. Go us.
We are already looking forward to our next real break together.....August 2012, here we come!!!

Mike's New Grill!

I am so excited! According to Mike, I won't be cooking much this summer because of his new toy. Here's what we had for dinner tonight! I am excited to see what else he'll be cooking for us. Isn't he the best?!

Future Ute

That's right all. I was just accepted into the Accelerated Nursing Program at the University of Utah! School starts on May 16th and we are thrilled! I am so excited to be a nurse and in a career where I can be constantly learning and doing good. I am also excited to be able to work and make enough moolah so that Mike can just focus on school and not have to juggle work and school! Who knows....we may even become fans :-)

Mikey's Birthday!

My man had a birthday. 10 days ago. As he is getting so old I feel that this is an important event to blog about. He is two dozen! (as his little sister so lovingly pointed out) I am looking forward to spending several dozen more years with him! He is my best friend and I would spend every minute with him if I could. Darn job! Growing up stinks.
(This picture was taken nearly 1 1/2 years ago, but I really want to be on the beach right now....)

Catch Up!

WICKED WEEKEND
Mike and I have a lot of catching up to do! We have been having so much fun lately and we will fill you in on some of our latest adventures! First off, this last weekend my mom took us girls to Denver to see the play Wicked. It was so much fun and the play was amazing! We got to spend lots of time bonding and chatting, like all girls love to do. Thanks, Mom, for taking us and being so much fun to be around! We made it to Denver in a very timely manner, thanks to mom's lead foot :) and picked up Rebecca and little Isaac in Fort Collins. We walked around on the 16th Street Mall some before the play on Saturday, then went to eat at my cousin Bryan's house. Funny fact for you, some of the cast members stayed in the same hotel as we did and we saw them at the continental breakfast. I was hoping they would break out into song for us, but it didn't happen :( It was fun to see them though.

BYU FOOTBALL
Also, a few weeks ago Mike and I were able to go to the BYU vs Utah State football game with Mike's friend Blake. It was lots of fun, plus the cougars pulled off a "W". The weather was good and our seats were too, thanks to Mikey's dad. GO COUGARS!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Mikey spoiled me on my birthday last month. He surprised me with a massage.... probably because he was sick of me asking him to give me massages. Now he just says that he isn't as good as the professionals so he shouldn't even try :) He's kind of a stinker, but that is what I love about him. He treated me like a princess and even made a cheesecake for me....nevermind that it was the jello kind :) It was a wonderful day that I got to spend with my honey!

Look at him with his masterpiece! It was so funny! He even bought some candles for the cake, but we couldn't find any matches :) We tried lighting them on the stove, but that didn't work out too well. It was a lot of fun though. I have such a great hubby and we have so much fun together.

Con-GRAD-ulations Leslie!

This April was an exciting month for Leslie and I. After three years of hard work up at BYU-Idaho, Leslie graduated with her Bachelors of Health Science. That’s right people, three years! It was so much fun to see Les all dressed up in her cap and gown, and then to watch her as she received her diploma. I was so proud of her! During this time we were also able to enjoy the company of both sets of parents, my little brother Jon, and two Grandmas. Thank you for coming and supporting us on this big day. After the graduation ceremony our group took some pictures by the BYU-Idaho sign, and then ate a delicious lasagna dinner back at our little apartment. It was a bit crowded in there, but overall very enjoyable. I just want Leslie to know how proud I am of her! She is an amazing girl, and I am the luckiest guy. I love you Leslie, and congratulations on your Graduation!

Happy Easter!

Hey everyone! We'd like to wish you a happy Easter! I (Mike) am going to start us off, and then let Les finish this blog. These last couple of weeks have been quite hectic with finals and class, yet we have still managed to have a great time. On Friday friends and family gathered and watched proudly as Leslie graduated from BYU-I (just in case you didn't know, the I stands for improved... true story). There will be more on Graduation once we get some pictures off my parent's memory card. Like I said though, we are all so proud of her and all the hard work she has put into obtaining her degree. You go Les! Well I'm going to let Leslie take it from here and share with you some of our Easter festivities.

In honor of Easter being tomorrow, Mikey and I colored some eggs. As an indication of the new rising rivalry in our home, these were the first eggs we dyed, unbeknownst to each other:

We decided that we would have an egg roll to see if it is a sign of what the results of the game this November will be...of course we will only believe it if my blue egg wins :)

And the winner is....not my blue egg so really this all means nothing :)
The rest of our beautifully colored eggs:
