Happy Easter!

Hey everyone! We'd like to wish you a happy Easter! I (Mike) am going to start us off, and then let Les finish this blog. These last couple of weeks have been quite hectic with finals and class, yet we have still managed to have a great time. On Friday friends and family gathered and watched proudly as Leslie graduated from BYU-I (just in case you didn't know, the I stands for improved... true story). There will be more on Graduation once we get some pictures off my parent's memory card. Like I said though, we are all so proud of her and all the hard work she has put into obtaining her degree. You go Les! Well I'm going to let Leslie take it from here and share with you some of our Easter festivities.

In honor of Easter being tomorrow, Mikey and I colored some eggs. As an indication of the new rising rivalry in our home, these were the first eggs we dyed, unbeknownst to each other:

We decided that we would have an egg roll to see if it is a sign of what the results of the game this November will be...of course we will only believe it if my blue egg wins :)

And the winner is....not my blue egg so really this all means nothing :)
The rest of our beautifully colored eggs:

Uncle Mike

People are not lying when they tell you that marriage is a life changing experience. As many of you know, Les and I are opposite bookends in our families. She is the youngest child, and I am the oldest. All of her siblings are married, and none of my siblings are married. You get the picture. In being the oldest, I had yet to experience the enjoyment and entertainment that comes from being an uncle.

So here are a few experiences which have made me chuckle. First off we have Gabby who says, "Mi" when she sees my picture. I don't know if I should say this, but I really get a kick out of fact that to my knowledge she has yet to say any fragment of Leslie's name. That's one point for uncle Mi. Secondly we have Logan's pillow-saber battles. I have to admit that before becoming an uncle, I had no idea that pillow-sabers existed. Let me assure you they do, and that I have fought and look forward to fighting many more battles with them. Last but not least, we have Aaron. One day while a bunch of us were sitting around chatting at the Rose's house, Aaron decided that Lady (Kelly and Steve's dog) needed to join the fun. Being the good uncle that I am, I watched in amusement as Aaron laughed mischievously and pulled the door open enough for Lady to sneak inside. After Lady was taken back outside, all of us there had a good laugh.

So there you have it. I don't have a ton of experience being an uncle, but thus far it has been a great adventure! Les and I very much so look forward to meeting the two new nephews scheduled to arrive this spring.

Fun Little Game

My sister Kelly had this game on her blog and I thought we would try it out as well to see how it goes!

The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! (But, I really hope you will)
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.
5- I reserve the right to do whatever I want.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog (or facebook, etc.) and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did, win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Good luck!

Married Dating

Leslie and I have now entered the fun and yet different world of married dating. Amid chemistry tests and other various time consuming college studies, we make sure to squeeze in some fun activities too. We really enjoyed bowling, playing games, and going out to dinner with Megan and Aaron Kinghorn and Ammie and Brent Page. This last weekend we went to the famous Big Judd's near Rexburg with Megan and Aaron. Of course I had to order the famous Big Judd burger which weighed in at a respective 1lb. Although I wasn't able to finish off the burger, we had a great time! We are excited to go down to Utah, but we are going to miss the friends we have made here in Rexburg.

Honeymoon

After months of planning and preparation, we found ourselves married and headed out to beautiful Oceanside, California. The cold winds and snow of Rexburg were replaced with balmy days and beautiful sunsets. Some of our adventures included playing at the beach, strolling on the pier, riding the roller coasters at Six Flaggs Magic Mountain, and watching Wicked the musical at the Pantages theater in down town Los Angeles. One day while we were strolling along the beach, we happened upon a sea lion basking in the sun. Of course we had to get as close as possible to get some pictures!

This is the view from our balcony:

Other than people's looks of amazement at the fact that we were actually married (I guess we do look pretty young to be married), we had a great time!

The Wedding

We were married this last December 27th in the Mt. Timpanogos temple. It was a beautiful, clear, freezing cold day! We were lucky to have so many friends and family members there to celebrate the best day of our lives with us!
